Functions
The telephone recorder REC780 support 3 working mode
1. Recording with analog telephone line(RJ-11).
2. Recording with phone headset line(RJ-9).
3. Recording with internal microphone.
Note: you need move the mode switch to correct position for different function, when you need recording with RJ-11 or RJ-9, you must move the mode switch to "Phone" position, when you need recording with internal microphone, you must move the mode switch to "MIC" position, otherwise the device will not working properly.
Press the "SET" button display three menu, there are ANSWERING MACHINE,RECORDING,SYSTEM, please check the the following menu explain:
Answer Machine Menu
1. Play Greeting: Play a greeting message to callers.
2. Record Greeting: Record a greeting
3. Remote Password: Set password for remote access. The default setting is 111。
4. ANS. Ring Count: Number of rings before the unit answers a call, you can change the number of times the phone rings “Ring Count” before the unit answers calls. You can select 2 to 7 rings.
※ Toll saver- The unit’s answering system answers at the end of the 2nd ring when new messages have been recorded, or at the end of the 4th ring when there are no new messages.
5. Remote Ring Count: Enable the Answering System Remotely: If the answering system is off, you can enable it by ringing it on remotely. Setting range is 5-20 times
6. Listening: Messages Monitor Setting(Yes/No), When this function is enabled, you may listen to message synchronously. Default setting is disable
7. MAX Record Time: Caller’s Recording Time: You can change the maximum message recording time allotted to callers. You can also select “Greeting only” which set the unit to greet callers but not record messages. The range is 2-5 minutes.
Recording Menu
1. MIC REC. Mode
Switch the SOURCE to MIC, AR120 can record audio from built in microphone or external microphone.
(1)Manual: Press RECORD to start, STOP to terminate.
(2)Automatic (Voice Trigger): When voice level is higher than settings, it starts recording automatically.
2. Auto / Manual Rec
You can set channel recording conditions
(1)Manual Recording: Press RECORD to start, STOP to terminate
(2)Automatic Recording: When line voltage is lower than settings, it starts recording automatically
(3)Voice Trigger: When voice level is higher than settings, it starts recording automatically.
3. MANU REC. Mode
You can set recording mode
(1)Headset Mode: Set for VoIP telephone recording by headset.
(2)Line Mode: Set for analog telephone system recording by RJ-11 telephone line.
4. VOX Trig Level: Adjust voice level in voice trigger conditions. Setting range is 1-10.
5. VOX Silence: Adjust silent time to terminate recording in voice trigger conditions. Setting Range is 5-99 sec
6. Max REC Duration: Set maximum recording time for single call. Setting range is 10 min ~ ∞
7. Min REC Duration: Set minimum recording time for single call. Setting range is 5 sec ~ ∞
8. Loop Recording
(1)Enable: When the SD card capacity is insufficient, it will delete the old audio files automatically and keep recording.
(2)Disable: When the SD card capacity is insufficient, it will not record any more.
9. Storage Capacity Alert: The LCD remaining recordable time symbol will blink when storage capacity is lower than setting. Setting range is 5-99 hours.
10. Play Announcement: Enable / Disable to play announcement that the call is recorded to caller
11. off Hook Voltage: The system will record the call automatically when the line voltage is lower than setting. Setting range is 15~30(V).
12. Call out Delay Time: The system will record calls after setting delay time. Setting range is 0~20 sec
System Menu
1. Time: System time setup
2. Date: System date setup
3. Time Format: System time display format setup
4. Date Format: System date display format setup
5. Time synchronization with Caller ID: Synchronize the time with FSK Caller ID
6. Language: You can choose Traditional Chinese, Simple Chinese or English as system language.
7. LCD Contrast: Adjust the contrast of LCD display, the higher the brighter. Range 1-6
8. SD Card Reserve Space: SD card can be set to retain the capacity for system smooth running.
9. Format SD Card: Format SD Card will remove all audio files.
10. Default setting: Reset to factory default.
1. How to recording with analog telephone system?
Step 1: Insert the micro SD card (max support 32GB) into the SD card slot
Step 2: Connect the power adapter to the 5V in port of the device.
Step 3: Move the mode switch to "PHONE" position
Step 4: Connect the phone port (RJ-11) to your telephone RJ-11 port via RJ-11 phone cable
Step 5: Connect the line port(RJ-11) to the telecom provider source port
Note: if did not insert micro SD card into the SD card slot or can not read the micro SD card, and connect with power adapter, the device screen will display "SD card error" with sound alarm, you need to insert a new micro SD card, after the device read the card, it will goto main menu
After the connection completed, the device display main menu as below diagram:
Press the "SET" button go to "SETTING" menu
Select "RECORDING" menu, goto "RECORDING" submenu, for more details please refer "RECORDING MENU" settings.
For analog telephone system recording you have set the "Auto / Manual Rec" menu to "(1)Manual Recording" or "(2)Automatic Recording".
When you set to "Manual Recording", you need press the "REC" button to start recording, and press the "STOP" button to stop recording.
When you set to "Automatic Recording", the system will auto start voice recording when you pickup the phone headset, and stop recording when put down the headset.
Note: you may need to set the "off Hook Voltage" depend on your telecom provider, the setting range is 15~30(V).
When finished setting please press back button goback to main menu, when the phone call dial in or dial out, the screen will display and phone number & recording status, please refer the bellow diagram:
2. How to recording with digital VoIP telephone system?
For VoIP digital telephone system are connect by network LAN port, we can records the voice from the phone headset, just connect the recorder to phone headset as bellow diagram:
Step 1: Insert the micro SD card (max support 32GB) into the SD card slot (please refer the analog installation diagram to learn how install micro SD card)
Step 2: Connect the power adapter to the 5V in port of the device.(please refer the analog installation diagram to learn how connect to power adapter)
Step 3: Move the mode switch to "PHONE" position(please refer the analog installation diagram to learn how to move the switch to "PHONE" position)
Step 4: Connect the base port (RJ-9) to your telephone headset RJ-9 port via RJ-9 headset cable(please refer the above diagram)
Step 5: Connect the headset port(RJ-9) to the headset port(RJ-9)(please refer the above diagram)
Note: if did not insert micro SD card into the SD card slot or can not read the micro SD card, and connect with power adapter, the device screen will display "SD card error" with sound alarm, you need to insert a new micro SD card, after the device read the card, it will goto main menu

At this interface you have set the "Auto / Manual Rec" menu to "(3)Voice Trigger".
Note: you may need to set the "VOX Trig Level" depend on your telephone, the setting range is 1~10, the voice level 1 is highest sensitivity, we suggest to set to 2 or 3.
Also need set VOX Silence: Adjust silent time to terminate recording in voice trigger conditions. Setting Range is 5-99 sec
When finished setting please press "back" button goback to main menu, when the phone call dial in or dial out, the screen will display the voice recording status, please refer the bellow diagram:
3. How to recording with internal microphone?
Step 1: Insert the micro SD card (max support 32GB) into the SD card slot
Step 2: Connect the power adapter to the 5V in port of the device.
Step 3: Move the mode switch to "MIC" position
Note: if did not insert micro SD card into the SD card slot or can not read the micro SD card, and connect with power adapter, the device screen will display "SD card error" with sound alarm, you need to insert a new micro SD card, after the device read the card, it will goto main menu
After the connection completed, the device display main menu as below diagram:
Press the "SET" button goto "SETTING" menu
Select "RECORDING" menu, goto "RECORDING" submenu, for more details please refer "RECORDING MENU" settings.
At this interface you have set the "MIC REC Mode" menu to "Manual" or "Automatic (Voice Trigger)".
When you set to "Manual", you need press the "REC" button to start voice recording, and press the "STOP" button to stop voice recording.
When you set to "Automatic (Voice Trigger)", the system will auto start voice recording when the voice is higher than the settings, and stop recording when the voice is quie。
Note: you may need to set the "VOX Trig Level" depend on your telephone, the setting range is 1~10, the voice level 1 is highest sensitivity, we suggest to set to 2 or 3.

Records Menu
on the main menu interface, press the "RECORD" button, go to display recorded sound files, we can playback the recorded sound file on the device, flag or delete it.
(A) Records Display Description
1.Record Type
I=Incoming call O=Outgoing call N=MIC T=Voice Trigger
A=Answering machine
2.Date /Time: Display date and time of audio files
3. Recording Length: Display the length of audio files.
4.Symbol indicates audio files, otherwise CDR only.
5. Incoming /Outgoing Call Number Display: Display incoming or outgoing numbers.
6. Symbol indicates the important audio files。
(B). Operation
1. Play: Play selected audio files。
2. Flag: Mark important audio files。
3. Remove Flag: Remove mark on audio files。
4. Delete: Delete selected audio files or CDR。
(1) Delete audio files and keep the CDR
(2) Delete both audio files and CDR
5. Search by Time: Search audio files by time
6. Search by number: Search audio files by incoming / outgoing numbers

(C). Play Audio files
Recording type, date, time, elapse, number and process will be shown on
LCD. You can delete or flag the audio file directly.
(D). Searching Option
1. All: Search all records in SD card
2. Incoming: Search all incoming calls including missed calls.
3. Answered: Search all received calls
4 .Unanswered Calls: Search all missed calls
5. Outgoing: Search all outgoing calls
6. Note: Search all audio files from MIC
7. Flag: Search marked audio files
8. Trig: Search voice triggered audio files
9. Answering: Search answering machine messages audio files
You can search specified audio files by operating search functions.
Enable/Disable Answering System
1. Enable / Disable answering system
Press the "Message on/off" button to enable the answering system, the "Message on light" will turn on, press again to disable the answering system.
2. Listen to messages by device
Press the "Message playback" button to listen 1st new message,the "Message play light" will turn on, If there’s no new message, it will play the latest message. Press BACK to review all messages
3. Listen to voice messages remotely
You can call your phone number from outside and access the unit to listen messages. Access the code when you hear the answering machine message, or if your answering machine not opened, the device will start to open default as the setting says 15s (reset available in device setting)
